PASSES AWAY AT AGE OF 98 Dickson County Loses a venerable citizen Thomas Fulghum,
BURNS, Tn- The death of Thomas Fulghum occurred at Kingston Springs Tuesday morning.He was born in 1816 and was 98 years of age on February 18. "Uncle Tommie," as he was familiarly known, came from Davidson County to this county more than half a century ago and settled near this place, where he made his home until the death of his wife a few years ago.He then went to Kingston Springs,where he has since resided.He had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church for about eighty-five years and was known far and wide in this country for his devoutness and fidelity to the church.Several children survive him, as follows: Messrs. Offie and Billie of Kingston Springs and Ben of Nashville, Mesdames Lena Tidwell of this place, Mary Strater of Boston, Harriet Sneet of Nashville and Sallie Payne of Nashville.Miss Tabbie died some twenty-five years ago.Mr Fulghum was united in Davidson County, and their married lief reached through a period of aobut seventy-five years. To-day of their generation there are fifty-six grandchildren and fifty-six great grandchildrehn, and one great-great grandchild.
The remains were brought to this place, Wednesday, and after the funeral services the remains were carried to Marvin Chapel Graaveyard, near his old home, for burial." April 23, 1914, The Nashville Banner, Thursday, Apirl 23
