My wife,Lennea, is decended from the Fulkersons and the Hiltons as well. John Hilton,(1/11/1788 - 5/31/1873) married Nancy Fulkerson,(1/23/1792 - 7/18/1860)on 1/16/1812. Nancy was one of Abrahams and Sarah's children. John and Nancy had 11 children. The sixth child was Sarah B.G. Hilton who would marry Andrew Jackson Hickam (A.J. Hickam is decended from George Hickam like myself. Also, John Hickam who owned the Fulkerson house from @1811-1814 was a brother of the same George Hickam. Small world right?) The meaning of B.G. in Sarahs name is not known. However, her maternial grandmother's maiden name was Gibson. The madian name of her partinal grandmother is not known but could have started with a "B" thus Sarah's B.G. may have been in honor of her grandmothers, both were a part of prominate families in this area. I strongly encourage you to purchase the book "Hiltons of Scott County, Virginia" by Jim Hilton. He does a wonderful job of recounting the early years of settlement of this area and includes information on the Fulkersons, Hickams and Hiltons. Jim & Mary Hilton's telephone number is (828)-696-1629. Tell them I directed you to them. The book is hard bound and sells for about $26.00. Also Joyace Sparks, 337th West Ave. Bristow Ok. 74010 telephone; (918)-367-5643. can likely give you the answer relating to the other Fulkersons. Joyace has a ton of info.
I hope this helps, stay in touch.
