Sarah was a sister of my 5 generations back grandfather Frederick, born about 1745. Many Fulkersons left NJ for Southwestern VA. Got confused for a while in No. Carolina, border between VA & NC being uncertain. Ultimately settled near Abingdon, VA.. Many were involved with Daniel Boone. Boone led many Fulkersons and others to St. Charles, MO, near St. Louis. It is claimed that Boone is buried there.

My Frederick spent the last 26 years of life in Livingston County, KY where Cumberland River meets the Ohio. Frederick settled there with grown children in 1795, one of his children, Richard married there and in 1818 moved across the Ohio River to found our family in IL. We remained until 1941 when we came to MI.

I have lots of info on Fulkersons. Also look at Fulkerson.org.
