Greetings from a potential cousin. I say potential because my ties to James and Sarah Fullen is contingent on illegitimate children.
I will start with myself and attempt the connection.
My parents are Lewis Henry Tuggle, Jr. (b. August 5, 1924 in White Hall, Maryland, d. January 7, 1999 in Saltville, Smyth County, Virginia) and Janie Josephine Sanders (b. February 14, 1927 in Saltville, Smyth County, Virginia).
My father's parents were: Lewis Henry Tuggle (b. August 3, 1884, d. January 5, 1944 in Poor Valley, Washington County, Virginia) and Dixie Dale Henderson (d. December 13, 1981 in Abingdon, Washington County, Virginia).
Dixie Henderson's parents were: James Sanders Henderson (b. March 25, 1874 in Washington County, Virginia, d. February 9, 1952 in Washington County, Virginia) and Ellen Lay Magnolia Perkins.
James Sanders Henderson's parents were: Hiram Fullen Henderson (b. August 12, 1835 in Washington County, Virginia, d. April 28, 1887 in Washington County, Virginia) and Theresa Ann (Polly) Sanders (b. September 27, 1847, d. April 8, 1927).
This is where the interesting part begins. Hiram Fullen Henderson was the son of Athala Helen Lay Henderson, the wife of Thomas Henderson, and ostensibly the gentleman with whom they lived and for whom they worked, Whitley Fullen.
Family oral history in the Henderson Clan has it that the final four of Athala Helen Lay Henderson's children were fathered by Whitley Fullen. As you probably know, he never married and left his entire estate to the last four of Helen Henderson's children.
If you are intersted, I have a great deal of information about the ties between these people.
I would certainly appreciate your sharing informtion about the ancestors and relatives of Whitley Fullen with me.
