My wife is the ggrandaughter of Washington Fullen. I learned of Henry Fullen from my mother-in-law Marian Fullen Huebener who passed the info about her great-uncle who died at Andersonville. I have also read about Daniel Fullen who lived about 60 miles away in Nebraska after the war. Can you answer a couple of questions:
Did Daniel receive a land grant in Nebraska following the war? (only to leave once the five year occupation requirement was satisfied?
Is Fullen Irish or German?
Was there any reference to Washington Fullen in the family anecdotal history?
Why did Washington migrate to Galena, Illinois where he enlisted for the Civil War?
Did he know U.S. Grant?
