Hi Linda..I was so glad to find this forum! I have been researching mothers family for about a year now. Let me give everyone a quick run down on what I have found. my mothers parents were killed when she was 12. She had a sister who was 14 and the other 6 children were younger, the least 2 in diapers. They lived alone for 2 years when some family from OH were visiting and found that they were not getting much help from the family. They were living on 50.00 a month and well...from what some members have told me they would probably have starved to death if not for the 3 families who took them in and kept them together. Anyway...My mother is Ophene Levan Cole, Her parents where Hencie Levan b 4/20/1910 and Cora L Meeks b 4/17/1919 both died 4/16/1953.
Cora L Meeks parents-Arthur Meeks b.1877 & Fannie Bell Nunley b. abt 1881-83.They married 1/5/1901
Hencie Levans parents- Hence Levan b.1885 & Timmie Fultz/s b. 5/22/1886, married 2/14/1903
Hence Levans mothers name was Annie b. 1856
Fannie's mother was Evelyn/Emeline/Eveline Fultz
This is about as far as I have gotten. I think possible that Timmies father was maybe Daniel Fultz?
All were from Grundy Co. Any help would be much appreciated. I am in Grundy Co. the 3rd weekend of each month and hope this month to visit the Root Cellar.Anyone having info can also email me at
