I have nothing concrete but may have a good lead for you.
In researching my Vermillion Co,IN Fultz family,I was able
to trace them back to Upper Mt Bethel twp, Northampton Co,
PA. I have obtained estate and deed records from Pickaway Co
OH, where this Fultz branch resided before moving to Vermillion Co, In. While studying these court records I
noticed an unusual name that I remembered seeing in the
Vermillion Co, In census....Metzger. Estate records, dated Oct 21, 1826 show George Ray,Andrew Fultz, and John Co?e being appointed guardians of Margaret Fultz, age 5yr4mo and the daughter of Jacob Fultz and also William Henry Fultz, minor child of Jacob Fultz. Jacob Fultz married Mary Metzger Jan 11,1816 in Pickaway Co, Oh. The name Metzger
shows up on the 1840 federal census for Vermillion Co, In
as do Andrew, John and William Fultz who were brothers of
Jacob. This may lead to nothing but it seems entirely plausible that Jacob's family would look after his widow and
minor children, especially since Andrew was one of the
appointed guardians and if she and the children did migrate
to Indiana with the Fultz brothers, did her parent's or a
brother make the trip too?
