I have information that Hans Devauld married Catherine Laney. Father of Hans Devauld was John Michel Von Der Berg. John Michel and wife with children migrated from Germany to America in 1738 from Hamburg, Germany on the ship, The Golden Beaver. That ship wrecked off the carolins coast. All in the family were lost except Hans Devauld, age 14. He was rescured by a ship carrying other German immigrants, and brought to Chaleston SC and sold as indentured servant to a planter to pay passage. I have some other information if you are interested. Gwen
