Laney Funderburk was in Roane TN by 1825 when he first appeared on the Roane Tax List, Captain Blair's Company and was taxed for 100 acres of land and 1 white poll. He had the same listing through 1827. The "situation" which frequently referred to a landmark, mostly watercourses was S.W. Sometimes there is a "key" to the initials but I was unable to find one. Tax lists are available from the LDS Church on microfiche or you can buy a book from the Roane County Heritage Commisssion.

Regards.
