Hi Jennifer,

I would be more than interested to read more about what you know on the von FUNKE or von FUNCKE family as these were our name before the family moved to the USA in the 1880's.
All I know is that we came from Sweden into
Latvia (KURLAND)and helped the Queen Christin
in the 30 years war in Prussia.
We became members of the Livonian chevalry in 1636 when Christin gave us a nobility and some ground at Loesern near Riga.
When the Russian marched towards Riga in the begining of the 18th century, the family moved to Braunschweig.
Our crest is :
3 golden stars ( 2 and 1)on a skyblue back.
I will send you a picture if you wish.
best regards

Richard
