Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

April:

The Funkhouser family--three lines: Jacob, John, Chrustian--have been extensively researched. Look for the published works at the libraries in Staunton, Harrisonburg, Edinburg, and Handley Library in Winchester. Start with Dan Bly's _From the Rhine to the Shenandoah__ vol 1 and 2 and see Dan's posts on this forum and on Ancestry's discussion board: http://boards.ancestry.com/surnames.funkhouser/mb.ashx. Frieda Wilson's _Funkhouser: A Swiss-American Genealogy_ traces the descendants of Christian. You might find Jacob Funkhouser's _The Funkhouser Family: A Historical Sketch (1902) interesting, but don't rely on it for the origins and first genearation--use Bly.
