Yes I am still working at it and the "missing links" are still a problem.As for Johannes who died in 1765- there are only two possibilities He could be the son of a Christian and Magdalena who immigrated to Alsace about 1709.They had a son, Hans (Johannes) born in Apr. 1699. Christian died in Alsace 1727-8 and there is no further record of this Hans there. He had a brother, Abraham, who stayed in Alsace.This family was not Mennonite,however, so how did the children of Johannes and Barbara in Va. become Mennonites.

He had a brother, Abraham, who stayed in Alsace.This family was not Mennonite,however, so how did the children of Johannes and Barbara in Va. become Mennonites.The other possibility is that Johannes in Virginia is in fact the Hans born to Christian and Barbara, the Anabaptists, in October (not Aug.) 1692.It means he was probably in his late 30s before starting a family but I have found quite a few other examples of this, especially among Anabaptist refugees.So we still don't know.
