Ok, we are getting close. I have a Sarah Furber, not Alice as one of their daughters. My data base is on Family Tree Maker, needs some work as I have merged too many files and have a mess.
Our lineage goes back to William Furber who was on the Angel Gaberial. Settled in the Portsmouth are of Newington, NH.
My GGgrandfather, Charles William Furber, was born in Somersworth, NH in the 1830's and was in Augusta, GA on the breackout of the civil war.
Just returned from London where I attempted to find the church where William may have been baptised (His parents were reported as having been married there, St. Benet Fink). However, on returning I find the parish is lost, having merged with other Parishes. Will continue searching this.
