Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
Looks like your question has been answered, but I will enter a little information from my Davie County Heritage Book:
"Thomas Furches, the son of tobias Furches, II, and Susannah Horn Furches, was born in 1798. By the 1820s he was busily buying land on Dutchmans Creek north of Cana, NC, where he operated a mill and a blacksmith shop along with his farming operation which he carried on with the help of his slaves. According (to) a book by John Frank Furches called 'The Furches Folk,' Thomas also had income from the lending of money."
There is further information on these people, which was submitted for the book by Elizabeth Tutterow, High Point University, NC.
