Hi Ron! I've been searching off and on for years for these Fureys. Bessie (who was born Bridget Agnes) was my grandmother. She married Irving Caswell and had Raymond Lexington (1906-1974) and Earl Ellsworth-my dad (1911-1991).
Both she (b. 1881) and her sister Mary (b. 1871) are listed in the birth records of Co. Roscommon for the village of Ballaghaderreen, but nothing shows that they ever lived there. At that time, Thomas was listed as working for the railroad, possibly as a cook, and it was common for the whole family to follow along as the railroad was being built.
I don't have much more than that, but would be glad to share about my trips to Ireland.
Anybody else related to us?
