Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Florenze Forness, aka Florentz Fornes, was the son of Anton Fornes and Catharine Schneider of Uhlwiller, Bas Rhin, France. I am a relative of his wife, Magdalena Stephan, daughter of Joseph Stephan and Marie Eve Becker.

Anton is extensively mentioned in the book:
The Chapel, A Comprehensive History of the Chapel and Pilgrimage of Our Lady Help of Christians, Cheektowaga, New York, and of the Alsatian Immigrant Community at Williamsville, Ny: Glenn R. Atwell and Ronald Elmer Batt, 1979, Town of Cheektowaga, The Holling Press, Inc. Buffalo, NY.

In addition, I would love to hear about his family and descendants, as they qualify for addition to a new website being planned about the inhabitants of his wife's hometown: The forebears, residents, and descendents of the inhabitants of Riedseltz, Bas Rhin, Alsace, France.

I would love to correspond with you, so please write back.
