It is a bit late but I have only just seen this message board.
The Furney family were alive and living in Co.Laois (not very far from Dublin) Ireland in the 1750s, my earlies records is 1710. I have no record for a Nancy, but that does not mean that she did not exist, the Irish records are almost impossible before 1840 and there was a fire during the civil war andthe records office was burt down along with most of the records. Do you have more information on Nancy and Robert? such as parents?
