See my Furr surname web page for more information about the Furr family.

Especially see the section on the ancestors of Heinrich Furrer. To date, no one has been able to come up with a primary source documents that will prove which Heinrich Furrer the North Carolina Furrs are related to (there are at least two prime candidates) or where he came from for sure. There are lots of theories and speculation but very little provable information that convincingly answers the question. I and others continue our quest. I am hoping a Furrer researcher may be able to shed some light on this. Two different researchers have use Swiss genealogists to help in our quest with limited success. I have been focusing on finding something related to a possible South Carolina arrival and/or family activity by the early Furrer/Furrs. So far some vague references but nothing definitive. Another theory I have been working on is that we are somehow related to the Virginia Furrs but again I have had no luck. If you come across anything definitive or new, please let me know.
