Links to the Feerrar Family

Just curious if you ever came across this spelling in your research FEERRAR. The family has been in central Pennsylvania for about 200 years but we are stuck at 1830 in Aaronsburg, PA. The farthest back I have been able to go is a Jacob Feerrar who was evidently born in what is now Union county PA around 1803. We have not been able to link him to the Furrer Family of Lewisburg, an Anthony Furrer. Do you have any information about Furrer's in central PA. My great uncle says that our last name used to have a U in it and that we came from the Alsace area of the disputed territory between France and Germany in the mid 1700's. Any help would be great
