Jesse(approx 1809-1865?) and Eliza(approx 1813-1880) resided from about 1834 to 1865 in Thedford, Bousanquet, Ontario. They had a farm very near the village of Widder on the shore of Lake Burwell.

They had at least 10 children: Albert, Sylvester, Hiram, Alfred, Nelson, Oliver, Louisa, Susan, Jane and Frank. Sylvester, Albert and Nelson served in the Union Army during the Civil War and following the war, the family emigrated to Illinois, settling for a while in Carlinville, Macoupin County.
Two of the sons, Ira and Oliver, went to British Columbia to trap, and wound up finding a copper mine.

Sylvester, Hiram, Nelson and Susan went on to Byers, Pratt, Kansas and homesteaded there. None of them had any children and the farm was passed on to their grand nephew.

Louisa married John M. Brennell in 1870 in Carlinville and had three children, Eliza, Augusta and John Roscoe Brennell. After Louisa and John M moved to Hammond, Indiana, their daughter Eliza married Walter Stratford and had 5 sons and a daughter... one of Eliza's sons is my grandfather, another one inherited the Furrey farm in Kansas. Albert died soon after the Civil War, he never fully recovered from black powder burns. Albert may have married in St Louis. Jane married a man named Friend. Frank may have gone to Texas.. he was the youngest of the Furrey boys, born about 1862.

This line of Furry/Furrey folk is descended from Lawrence Furry and Barbara Zavitz of Ontario, Canada. Lawrence and two of his brothers came to Canada from Pennsylvania. Their ancestors were from the 'Palatine' states.
