Oliver and Ira Furry in British Columbia

I've just returned from a trip to Vancouver, BC, including a drive to Britannia Beach, to take the tour of the Mining Museum there. Local records, including 'Britannia, Story of a Mine by Ramsay' indicate that Oliver and Ira Furry, two of the sons of Jesse and Eliza Logan Furry, were long time residents of Howe Sound as loggers, trappers and prospectors.

The special question I have today concerns the gravesite owned by Ira Furry at Fraser Cemetery in New Westminster. Lot 16 consists of 10 burial plots. Plot 1 and 2 are listed as vacant. the following names are on the rest:
3: Louisa Jane Furry 3/30/1878 (Ira's dau)
4: Lucy Furry 3/25/1879 (Ira's wife)
5: Oliver Furry 7/24/1905 (Ira's younger bro)
6: Ira Furry 4/4/1925
7: Francois Plante 8/21/1947
8: Capt George Mayers 2/2/1975
9: Catherine Mayers 9/30/1965 (Wife of Geo)
10: Pearl Mayers 7/6/1935

So... who were the Mayers, and what was their relationship to the Furry Family? In-Laws? Neighbors?

Does anyone on the list have relatives in BC or anywhere, named Mayers?

Thanks.
