Taken from AGLL Series M259 roll 40
Passenger lists - New Orleans arrivals May 1, 1854 to Nov. 22, 1854
on the ship SS Laurens, embarked at Antwerp, arrived New Orleans May 30, 1854 with 212 passengers, all from Germany and Switzerland, Wm. J. Logan, master

I have sorted the names into what appear to be families, but I could be wrong on some of them.

These passengers gave their destination as St. Louis:
Melchior Furst, 44, roofmaker
Elisabeth 40-something, prob. his wife
Christina, 13; Engelbert, 11; Simon, 8; Franz, 4; Elisabeth, ?

Wm. Jos. Furst, 57, weaver
Mariane, 28; Conrad, 27 (died on board the ship May 13, 1854); Hyacinthe, 25; Therese, 23; Gabriel, 18

Victor Furst, 58, carpenter
Anne, 49, his wife
Hieronymas, 14; Ulrich, 11; Helena, 8
(Victor is my husband's ancestor; I believe Victor, Wm. Jos. and Melchior are brothers)

This family gave their destination as Cincinnati:
Joh. Jos. Furst, 50, farmer
Anna, 37
Leons, 11; Victor, 10; Agathe, 8

These gave their destination as New Orleans:
Jacob Furst, 36, farmer
Cath., 40
Joseph, 9; Mary, 7; Pauline, 6; Nicolas, 5; Elisabeth, ?

Reinald Furst, 24, farmer; Franciska, 34; Anna, 6 months

I hope this is your Jacob. Let me know if it is.
