Norma -

I am not sure our timeline matches, but I thought I would give you the information that I have, you might at the very least find it interesting!

My great-great grandmother was Mary/Marie Grezezkowiak (Furst). She was born in Germany in 1878. Her husband was John Grezezkowiak. When they immigrated, all of the male children changed their first names as well as their last. They became John, Frank and Eddie Koviak. My great grandmother, however, did not. Many of her documents are confusing because they have different names such as Lucyia, Lucy and Lucille. I knew her as Grandma Lucy. She was born in 1907 and lived in Detroit until she actually moved in with my family her last few years until her death in 1988.

Hope this helps or was interesting!
