Patricia --

I just did a search on 'Ask Jeeves'. There was a plethora of information on Acadians. There is a library in St Martinville. Following is the info from Ask Jeeves.

Considering the Fuseliers were instrumental in the founding of St. Martinville. This may be a great library to start with. Please keep me posted on your findings.

Also, a third cousin of mine Eric Wilkerson-Theaux (related to me through the Duchamp de Chastaigne) does extensive research on the families of Acadiana. Do a web search on his name. I promise it will pop up.
