Yes! We are talking of the same family. My great grandmother was Cassiah Chapman...that is how the name was always pronounced, but records on her have her name spelled as Carlecia/Alecia etc. If you are familiar with the french accent I see how the pronunciation of "Cassiah" came about. I have her and Fabius's marriage certificate. However, looking at the way you spelled it might give me a lead to the family stories of her being part native american. I've not been able to verify that by document though. I would be interested in exchanging information.
The Cas-chaud I was referring to was Cassiah/Carlecia's first husband, my great grandfather. His name was Achille Ardoin. Cas-chaud was a nickname he went by. I have no idea what ever happened to him.
The only other reference to a Fabius Fuselier is from another researcher from the Mamou area (living in TX now I think). She had him listed with her family of Fuselier's but had no other info on him. We assumed that they were the same. I can try to find that info. My files are a bit of a mess these days as we've been in the process of moving..and it has been a long time since I have worked on this. You can contact me directly through my email if you wish...we can compare notes.
Thank you for the info.
