Dear Cindy and John,

Cindy, the last time you wrote, you said you were moving back to Louisiana. I'll bet it's good to be back home!

John, Cindy and I have corresponded for many years. Both of us are from Ville Platte, LA. I am a good many years older than Cindy, but I knew her mother. Cindy and I met at the World-Wide Fontenot Family Reunion in Ville Platte in Octoer 1999. Wonder when/if they will have another reunion?
I thought it had been decided to have a reunion every other year - alternating between Louisiana and Alabama.

My granddaughter who teaches at the Univ of So Il had a few days off and she drove me to Ville Platte (May 15th). We had a very pleasant visit. They sure fed us well and I brought back two coolers full of Boudin, Tasso, Sausage, and 5-lbs of LA crawfish!

I have a small amount of information on Fabius Fuselier (Anatole, Joseph, Honore, Gabriel, Pierre, Antoine, Francois, Henry) born 20 Jun 1887 in St. Landry Parish - bt. Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Chataignier, LA, d. 31 Jan 1957 in Evangeline Parish - bur. St. Ann Cemetery, Mamou, LA. He married (1) Elina Rougeau 05 Nov 1907 in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Eunice, LA, d/o Landry Rougeau and Marguerite Fruge. She died Bef. 1944 (date her widr remarried). He married (2) Calisia Marie Chapman 1944, d/o Joseph Chapman and Emelia Saucier. She was born 20 Feb 1874 in St. Landry Parish, bt. Sacred Heart, Ville Platte, LA, d. 28 Aug 1962 in St.Landry Parish, bur. St. Paul's Cemetery, Eunice, LA.

Notes for Elina Rougeau (Landry & Marguerite Fruge) m. 5 Nov 1907 Fabius Fuselier (Eunice Ch.: v. 3, p. 233) Hébert, V. 39, p. 741

John, was Elina Rougeau his first wife? or his second?

Cindy, do you receive "Bonnes Nouvelles"? Some time ago,
the editor, Bobby Dardeau, asked me to write a question and answer colum called Digging Up Roots. So far, it has been well-received.

If either of you have questions I may be able to answer, please write:
