Hello, cousin!

Marius, Sr., died either the day before or the day after Hurricane Audrey struck, which was June 27, 1957. Your father was visiting us at the time. He was originally from Elton, Louisiana, which has a nearby Kosati Indian reservation. Our Aunt Jo Ann Fuselier and our grandmother, Mimi, used to say that his mother was an Indian, and in fact that side of the family tended to have high cheek bones. Your father, however, told me that this woman was Italian. At Aunt Jo's memorial service (the last time I saw your father), there was a woman I had never met before who said that she was writing a family history. She was from Baton Rouge.
