Actually, the only thing we really know about our Fussell line is from the delayed birth certificate of Archie Ervin Pike. He states his mother was Ida Mae Fussell and that he was born in Columbus, Georgia. Ida Mae and Austin Fussell are the only leads we have to the Fussell line. We would like to know if Fussell is Ida Mae's married name or her maiden name. We are amongst the oldest living members of our family with any knowledge or remembrance of Archie and no one remembers Mary Fussell (see next paragraph) or if they do no one is talking.

I have found an Ida Mae Fussell with a daughter Mary in the 1900 or 1910 Muscogee County Census Records. I think there was an Archie enumerated with them. If this is the correct family for us, then Archie and Mary could have been brother and sister or at least had the same mother (Ida).

I have found two Austin Fussell's in the Social Security Death Index one born in 1904 the other about 1923. One born in Phenix City, Al. the other born in Columbus, Ga. We just don't know if either are descendants of Austin and Ida Mae Fussell. We haven't applied for their original Social Security signup cards to see who is listed as their parents.

Do your records show any correlation with the above info?

REspectfully yours,
Tony & Kathy
