Eve FUTHEY d Apr 1835 Coshocton Co OH.In Journal #1 - COURT OF COMMON PLEAS, Millersburg, Holmes Co OH Monday the 29th June 1835 Present as Judges the Hon. Ezra DEAN, President of the Judicial Circuit in Ohio and the Hon. Seth HUNT, Thomas LIGGET and Samuel CULBERTSON his associates in for said county.Amongst other proceeding and by the court at said town was the following, viz; On motion Jesse CUNNINGHAM was appointed by the Court Guardian for Sophronia FUTHY aged ten years and Starret FUTHY aged eight years on his entering into bonds according to law in the sum of one hundred dollars each with John CUNNINGHAM & Jacob CUNNINGHAM bail.Thereupon said Jesse CUNNINGHAM executed his two separate bonds for the said sum of one hundred and fifty dollars signed by the said John CUNNINGHAM and Jacob CUNNINGHAM as bail and received a certificate of his said Guardianship.
In PIONEERS OF THE PRAIRIE by Wilma BRUNENN the article about Starrett FUTHEY names him as a brother of Samuel FUTHEY.Samuel FUTHEY would have been of age when his parents, Eve and Isaac FUTHEY died. They all went before 1840 to Adams Co IL with their uncles Jesse and John CUNNINGHM.Their uncle Jacob CUNNINGHAM joined his brothers in the early 1850s.
Jesse CUNNINGHAM, the oldest son of Arthur CUNNINGHAM was a caregiver to his parents and other family members.I was not surprised that he cared for the orphan children of his sister, as well..
A FUTHEY researcher told me that Isaac FUTHEY was the son of Robert FUTHEY and Mary LEE, grandson of Robert FUTHEY and Ruth KIDD.I have not researched his ancestry.
