Hello, all you Futhey's,

Am looking for the parents of the above. Samuel Sr. (born in PA) was listed on the 1860 Census in Mission Twp., La Salle Cty., IL living with the Seitzinger Family (from Schuylkill and Berks Cty. PA) as their hired hand. He married Julian Seitzinger in March 1860, they had a son William Frances Armstrong in September 1860. Samuel Sr. joined the Civil War effort in August 1862. He died of typhoid and pneumonia in Nashville TN (November 1862) two days after the birth of his second son, Samuel Futhey Armstrong, Jr., my grandfather. In some of the Futhey research I've read ( there is reference to a Samuel Futhey and a Frances Futhey perhaps both my grandfather and his brother were named after the Futhey Family.

I feel that Samuel Sr. had a sister and a brother living in La Salle Cty., IL also. Hope this fits into someone's research.

Linda Lettie Armstrong-Ploehn
