Peter Helton was a Native American and a Rev. War Soldier. He was found in Burke CO. NC in the 1800, 1810, 1820 census. Then He was found living within the boundries of the Cherokee Nation in McMinn Co. TN. He was found later in Carroll Co. GA. This is my line and I know that there are many descendants there in Carroll Co. GA. Peter was said to have been 105 when he died. He was wounded three times in the battles in the Revalution. He filed for his pension in McMinn Co and remarried there. He was born about 1752. There are several Cherokee Applications that were made in 1906 back to a Peter and Jennie. One application was made by a James Hite. The son of Peter Hilton.

His Brother Abraham Helton married Katie Owl and moved from NC to live in Lumpkin Co GA. He is buried in Town Creek in a cementery of Pisgah Baptist Church. Abraham had many applications going back to him. He was born around 1743 and joined the military out of VA. Both of these men had large families.

WE need help from the descendants of these two men. ANyone know anything about them please write back.

Mike Helton
