Laytons of Ft. Gaines

Looking for any info on the Layton family that lived in Ft. GAines in the early 1900s. It is my understanding that they owned a "mercantile store". It was a large family with sons John and Jim, daughters Nancy, Lily, Martha and Samantha (my grandmother) and maybe more. I don't know the names of the parents, although there is a marriage listed in the Clay county records that fits the time frame....W J Layton (Layten) married Bettie Newman on May 22, 1870....does anyone recognise any of these names?
I think that the family left the Ft. Gaines area following the Depression and I can't seem to track down any links.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
