North Georgia Times, (Murray Co. GA) Thursday, September 17, 1885:
"Bluffton Springs---At the jail a few nights ago, the colored inmates decided that they saw the ghost of George Edwards. Edwards was a terror while living, and as he had joined the spirit band of departed demons, his powers have been considerably augmented, and his return was unbearable. Such screaming for help we never heard. One fellow rubbed all the skin off his forehead trying to get out. The white prisoners saw nothing."
