Three volumes of Early County Historical data are published. To further inquire about these books, email me in this S. Georgia area.......

In the Beginning there were only 3 lower counties in Georgia. Irwin, Appling and Early.......All counties have been divided over the years into smaller counties, Seminole County was the last to be cut out of Early, Miller and Decatur Counties in 1920. Check with us to see where your family might be at this time........Clay, Calhoun, Miller, Dougherty,Baker and Decatur and Grady and Thomas county were all included in the original Early County which was created in 1818.......I live in Cedar Springs and there are several old cemeteries in this area, namely, Porter, Moseley, Roberts, Howards, Chambers, Martins, Evans, Perrys, Sheffields, Pyles, Weavers, etc. to name a few are buried here from early on...........Joan Richards Herndon
