I am looking for any information on the birth and ancestry of James Pinkston Scott. He was born in Franklin County, GA in 1824. He later moved to Kentucky but Census information indicates both his parents were also born in Georgia.

I am also interested in any information relating to a marriage between the Scott and Pinkston families. Family tradition indicates that Pinkston was either his mother's or his grandmother's maiden name.

I'm also interested in any tips on how to locate this type of information for Franklin County.
