Aden G WOODS 1874-1942 married Margaret M LOCKARD [A not E] 1859-1931. Buried at Danzler Cemetery, Whitfield County,GA. Buried nearby is Frances Matilda LOCKERD [E not A] 1854-1925. Possibly mother of Margaret.
Aden WOODS is the eldest child of:
Sarah Spiva/Spivey (Native American Cherokee from NC) who married William WOODS. Sarah was born circa 1850. Parents are said to be
Elmsley SPIVEY & Caroline GREEN SPIVEY.
Parents may be Spencer G SPIVEY & Caldonia GREEN SPIVEY.[Married 3-2-1843 at Jefferson County, GA]
Sarah SPIVEY WOODS is buried at "Nine Mile Church Cemetery" (between Chatsworth & Dalton) Gilmer(??)County, Georgia. She died of childbirth complications in 1885. Her son Jess lived.
He may have been adopted by one of his mother's married sisters. She would have been..maiden name SPIVEY, married name ELLIOTT.
Jess ELLIOTT a.k.a. Jess WOODS had a daughter born circa 1910 named Roberta.
Jess was very close friends with Marion H GRIZZLE (born GA 1871)who lived at Sand Mountain, Dekalb,Alabama. Marion was the son of my greatgrandparents, William Reid & Rachel Artminta WARD GRIZZLE.

William WOODS, husband of Sarah, disappeared within days of his wife's death.
Some say he was murdered. Others say he left Georgia and later hanged for murder. He may have gone west and remarried, raised another family.
