My great grandmother, Rhoda Silvania Chastain, is buried in Ridgeway Cemetery, Gilmer County GA. Her marker is an uncarved stone. There are several others marked only with stones and we don't know which is hers. Does anyone know if Ridgeway Baptist Church might have old cemetery records, or might have donated them to an archive somewhere? I will contact the church about this, but I wanted to see if someone who might not attend church there has information.
Sylvania died around 1912. It's also possible that other family members are in similar graves.
Also, in the 1890's, the old log church as used as a school, and it's possible my grandfather and his brothers attended school there. Can anyone direct me to information about this chapter in the old building's history?
