Joseph Slate married second wife Margaret Bramlett December 1, 1867 in Gilmer Co. Georgia. She was born about 1829 in South Carolina. Joseph appears in the 1870 census, but not in the 1880 census. We can conclude he died during that time period. In 1880 Margaret was living in Gilmer Co. with her parents John and Elizabeth Bramlett, and her widowed sister Matilda (Quillain). Margaret married John Carpenter June 6, 1882 in Gilmer Co.
I have no further information.
