Dickson, Someone sent me that photo a couple of years ago. I wasn't so much interested in the Strouds as in the Wilsons and McWhorters. Those are my direct lines. I haven't bothered to research the Strouds at all. My McWhorters married into the Wilson family several times and, when a Wilson married a Wren, they connected again. My GG grandparents were William Leroy McWhorter and Eliza J. Wren. William was the son of Moses McWhorter and Sarah Kinney (of Carroll County) and Eliza was the daughter of William Wren and Martha Wilson (of Heard County). Martha was the daughter of James Wilson and Elizabeth Toler. Another daughter of James and Elizabeth Toler Wilson (Celia) married Newton Alexander McWhorter, and another daughter (Nancy Ann Lucinda Wilson) married D. Franklin McWhorter. This one later married the Stroud. Newton and Franklin McWhorter were brothers, both sons of Leroy McWhorter and Mary Elizabeth Thomasson (or Thompson) also of Carroll County. My Moses was also a son of Leroy and Mary McWhorter. Leroy McWhorter was pastor of Centralhatchee Baptist Church in Heard County for a couple of years (1858-ish) and that's probably where the McWhorter boys met the Wilson girls. He also pastored churches in Carroll County. So sorry, but I don't have anything on the other families you mentioned. Judy Notify Administrator about this message?
