Hello. I am researching to locate the burial and any lifetime stories of my gr. gr. grandfather , Archibald Milliner Hand.
He was born in 1822, South Carolina. He lived in Chambers Alabama in 1860.His wife was,Martha C. Pore , born in 1828, of Florida. They were married Sept. 16, 1849in Chambers ,Alabama. They had the following children:

1.Sarah E. Hand - Born 1851
2.Mary F. " - 1853
3.Martha M. " -1855
4.Ella D. " -1858
5.Pennie OLJ " -1860
6.Susan M. " -1863
7.William A. " -1865
8.John W. " -1868
9. Columbus S. " -1875 to 1950 {unlisted on this family census}.
10. Let A.{or R.} Hand -1876 to 1947 {unlisted on this family census}.

The last place that Archibald and Martha were on the 1870 census was, Militia District 761 Heard Co.,Georgia. He was a farmer. I have searched the area online for burial and sought help from a helpful volunteer of genealogy. She could not find their graves . I realize that they may or may not have grave stones. She suggested that maybe they were buried in a surrounding area to Heard County,Ga.
I hope this will reach someone who will know the answers.
Thankyou, Lisa.
