Searching for Grandparents who came from Ga.to Al. to Heidenhiemer Bell Co, Tx. near
Rosebud, Falls Co., Tx.
Jerry J Thompson + Manery (Manerva)Mcinnish
both born in GA.about 1850's moved to AL.
Jerry Jackson born 1850 Heard Co, Ga. to Edmond Thompson, family found on the 1850
and the 1860 census. Family lost after that.
Manorah or Minerva - she wrote her name Manery was born in Ogelthorpe Ga.
According to a family letter Jerry died in Texas and left 3 orphan children. No mention of the mother was made. They were taken back to Al.and raised by Susan Mcinnish ,they are found listed with her in Randolph Co, AL on the 1910 census. the children are:
Louisa b 1890 Al-(Al archive midwife record):
William Jackson b 1894 Al(my DAD)(no record of birth found yet):and
Daniel Webster b1896 Tx.(no record of birth found yet)Both parents are reported to have died shortly after Dan's birth.
I would like to get a death cert for them and a birth cert for Dan, but have had no luck.
Appreciate any info on these folks. With all the Thompsons can someone please give me a clue where to look. Or tell me anything about them, especially the Thompson family. In the letter written from Texas back to relatives in Al telling of Jerrys death it said he was attended by a Dr. Bailey, of Rosebud. It also said they (?) were waiting for a guardian to be appointed,shouldn't there be a record of that someplace? The letter seemed to be written by a sibling of Jerrys, so there may
be Thompson kin still in Texas? There was also mention of a wagon and horses, and using them to support the children, until their fate was decided, shouldn't there be a record of what happened to them? (Just in case there was a fuss over the children and the Thompson's were mad at the Mcinnish's for taking the children, could you please forget it long enough to tell me about my folks.)
