There is a Uriah Alexander in the Oakwood Confederate Cemetery in Raleigh NC that was shot and died April 14, 1865 and just recieved a new headstone the 7th of July 2008 on the unknown soldiers grave there. He was in my grt grandfather's regiment out of Henry Co. Ga. 27th Ga. Infantry Co. H This may be someone of interest to you? He had an relative that came up here from Goergia to the ceremony name George Alexander but don't know much more than that. He did have a brother in the same outfit whose name was Elijah Alexander listed as dead and a F. Alexander
all of the 27ty Reg. together. They would have signed up at Griffin, Ga.around Sept. 1861.My grt grandfather was with that reg. that is how I know.Hope this may be of some help.
