Lydia Kirkland Pelham Thurston was first married to Ambrose Pelham, Sr. (Pellam, Pellom, Pellum), who was murdered by Jenkins brothers in 1802 in Orangeburg County, SC. Her dau, Mary Eliza Pelham, married John Jordan about 1814 in Barnwell County, SC. They were my g. g. g. grandparents. The individual giving me the info on Lydia and George living in Henry County, Ga appeared accurate at the time. James had obviously died prior to 1830, as George and Lydia were living in Henry County, Ga at that time. It was believed Ambrose Pelham first married a McMillian, as well. Lemuel Thurston, possibly son of James, married a sister of Jennie Sexton, who married Nathan Jordan. Nathan and Jennie Sexton were the parents of my John Jordan.
