In the 1860's Susan Moon, (daughter of Robert Moon)and her husband, Dr. Owen Thomas David, lived close to her father's plantation in the Mulberry community. During the war Dr. David died in Richmond, VA on 5 Oct 1861 but was not buried at Bethabra Church until March 1862. Sue wrote a letter to Thirza and James H. David, Owen Thomas David's parents saying that Mr. Davis of Bethabra preached the funeral. I had trouble locating this church since there are a couple of churches in GA with this same name. The church secretary said that many of the inscriptions have been erased from the monuments due to the elements and no inventory exists at this cemetery. I feel like this is the one where he was buried since we have the letter and a Rev. Davis was there at that time. Apparently there was a Masonic Lodge in Mulberry at the time since Dr. David was a member. The letter was post marked Mulberry so a Post Office was located there as well. Dr. David was a dentist. Thanks.
