Hello Anne,
Is it possible that your Stewart famiky were Stewards instead if Stewarts, I know that there was one family of Stewards in
Jackson County in 1820, and Josiah Little married a Martha Steward in 1817 in Jackson County, GA. And that was the only Census that they were listed in Jackson County. In that Census I could not find any Stewarts.
Maybe we will find what we are looking for, I hope !
