Thanks for your help, Sue. I do not have a marriage certificate for Frank and Anna (Annie). However, Annie "married" William C. White after Frank Thornton disappeared, thinking that Frank was dead (she was either told or thought this independently). When Frank showed up again some time later, William C. White annulled the marriage due to his belief that Frank and Annie had been married. That's the only proof I have, other than I've been told by family members that they were married, and that their union produced one child, their daughter Alice Thornton. I know very little about Annie's other marriages, other than the names: Jesse Moore (late 1890's) & D. H. Sharp (1910-20). Annie's parents were Jerusha Lesueur and Elisha Irvin. It appears as if Annie was born in Pike County, then the Irvin family moved to Hall County, and on to Jackson County. If Annie got married to Frank, it's likely the marriage was in Hall, Jackson, or a neighboring county, such as Madison. I know Annie's mother Jerusha is buried in Madison County. Interestingly enough, I cannot find Annie and her daughter Alice in the 1900 Census. They show up in the 1910 Census: Alice is shown with her husband Marvin White, with Annie "White" living in the house as well. Annie is listed as mother-in-law to Marvin. Let me know what you think.
