Are there still many Adams in the great Peach state of Georgia? The Civil War of 1865 has become a great interest in the last 5 years... after reading about William Tecumseh Sherman - leaving his employment at President of LSU in Louisiana and becoming a Union General - then using the "Scorched Earth Policy" to burn the South from Tenn to the Atlantic ocean at Georgia. ( The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down ). Then we found out Ole' GrandPa Adams way back there in 1861 joined the Georgia 7th Regiment Confederate Army and was wounded and captured two times. After the Civil War he left the Georgia Peaches - as it was burned and destroyed and moved West until he came to the fork of the Mississippi River and the Atchafalaya River and stopped there - forever until he died.
