Hi, You are correct about the spelling in the census. The Floyd family are listed as black but they are white. Must have been a long day for the census taker?
Bery & Uzzy Floyd are brothers. I looked in 1870 census looking for a Grooms family so that maybe somehow i would be able to connect susuan grooms, then i started looking for others with her in it. I guess I was overlooking this. There are Futches nearby today even and now it does make sense I wonder if thomas futch is related he was a close family "friend" to berry & susan's son , that i know of.
I will certainly look into this family and I hope this comes out to be my susan grooms. Thank You SO Much!!!!!!!
I will post my finding especailly if it is.
Thank You
Sincerely, Michelle
