Dear William, Thank you for taking time to respond to my message. I had checked out all the Lindsay and Silas Payne families some years ago, following them through several census records. Nevertheless, I did a little further research this morning and found the Emely you mentioned is Emily S. Payne, born about 1854, daughter of Silas King Payne (b about 1827) and a Mrs. Martha A. Payne (b about 1827, South Carolina.) This Emily married a John B. Garrison on 15 Nov 1874 in Cherokee County, Georgia, two years after Anderson T. Bass married Savannah E. Payne.
I do know Anderson and Savannah married near Waleska. I found a message(several years old) about a Methodist Cemetery in Waleska. The individual posting the message offered to check out names (including Paynes) in the cemetery. Numerous individuals responded to that message, but the person posting the message never answered their enquiries.
