By the way, William, that was the Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery in Waleska. I thought if there were any male Paynes of the right age who had died in that area they might be buried there and I might be able to find a will or land records mentioning Savannah.

I do know several members of the Bass family, including Savannah, are mentioned in the Sardis Baptist Church records, so this might be a long shot.
